Cabbage is the main ingredient in this dish, aptly called steamed cabbage. Serve with rice for a vegetarian entrée or mixed with canned corned (bully) beef and served over rice.
*Stir in ½ lb. cooked, flaked salt fish and serve with fried dumplings or fried green bananas to make a traditional Caribbean breakfast.
*Substitute 2 TB oil for butter and omit salt and black pepper to make this dish Ital.
