A Timeless Classic
This strawberry preserves recipe is just like thousands of others on the www. A preserves recipe is one of the simplest recipes you can create. That makes it an ideal choice for beginner cooks, including yours truly once upon a time. That preserves happens to also be one of the sweetest, richest, most satisfying condiments ever is a definite plus. Or it could be the satisfaction of making something so delectable from 3 inexpensive easy to find ingredients. The strawberry preserves recipe below can be modified to include most berries and some cook-able fruits like apples or peaches. As a general rule if it can make a good pie it will yield tasty preserves, jams, jellies, or marmalade.
Backyard Memories
It’s been a loooong time since I made strawberry or other any preserves recipe. Still, I can vividly recall those summer days of my childhood. Days that were spent searching through thickets of strawberry, blackberry, and grape bush in our backyard for whatever the season yielded. Guided by my mother’s Betty Crocker cookbook or her Food & Wine magazines, whatever I gathered aplenty would be simmered down to sticky sweet perfection. Living in a home that had a canning closet filled with mason jars was another bonus. By now you probably understand how a recent strawberry preserves project took me down memory.
